Perfect hash (homemade, moist and crispy at the same time) and grilled homemade raisin grilled bread. Didn't try anything else as this was perfect.

Parents insisted I visited Red Cottage before determining which breakfast spot I liked better. Now that I have, I can unequivocally say that Good Friends Cafe is better. A lot better... The corned beef hash, homefries, and (of course) the homemade bread were all superior here. My new go-to breakfast stop in Bass River? This is it.

So good we went back the next day! Owner was super friendly since we had to wait outside for a while and it was pretty hot. Loved the hash combo and home fries. A touch salty, but not overly so. My daughters loved their hash and steak benedicts. Pancakes were excellent. Portions were huge! Wanted to try their homemade breads, but didn't want to pay the extra cost. Cash only and a bit pricey, but reasonable for the cape.

Fast and friendly service, delicious food, and the most spectacular slice of cinnamon raisin bread I've ever had. My eggs were cooked perfectly and my fiancé said the French toast was in the top three he has ever had. So that's a huge compliment there! I would have given this place 4.5 stars because the coffee cups were quite stained on the inside. But my experience as a waitress told me to give them some credit because I know that no matter how many times you run a coffee cup through the dishwasher, the stains can remain. I highly recommend getting a slice of their apparently famous grilled bread because it is so good. It was basically a giant cinnamon roll (lol!) A must-try if you're near mid-cape!

I've eaten at every breakfast place in the area and this is by far my favorite. It is seriously underrated. Freshest & best tasting food I've had at any breakfast/brunch restaurant and not an hour wait like the other places in town. It is a little bit more pricey than breakfast usually is, but so totally worth it. Their homemade breads are worth the up charge. I can't wait to try all their flavors. Their fresh fruit cup was delicious. Overall, great experience and Good Friends is definitely now my go-to breakfast restaurant on Cape.

This place was ok but I was expecting it to be much better based on the other reviews. My omelette good but the coffee was disgusting- I couldn't even drink it and I am by no means a coffee snob. We also had to wait a lot- to be seated, to be served, and then to be waited on again. Plus it was cash only which is pretty inconvenient in this day and age. Won't be returning.

This place has perfected breakfast! I had the apple walnut French toast and it was moist but had crispy edges just like I like it! I also had the corn beef hash, absolutely fantastic. I usually eat it with ketchup, but no need with this hash. It was super flavorful! My husband had the omelet with Italian sausage and peppers, he loved it! The breakfast potatoes were garlicky and delicious! The cinnamon toast he said tasted like a cinnamon roll, but not sugary - it was just right! Next time we'll have to try the Oreo Bread or the Oreo French Toast. Everyone was very friendly, especially the owner, she checked on us and gave us ideas of where to go today! We're completely satisfied and definitely will return the next time we're in the Cape!

This is a wonderful cafe. The breakfast menu is extensive making choice difficult. We had eggs Benedict, grilled bread (Apple Walnut & Cranberry Walnut), Blueberry pancakes and omelette. All first rate. The staff were also so very helpful and charming. Strongly recommend the place

Best place for breakfast in Dennisport. We arrived on Monday night, August 31, 2015 and went there for breakfast the next day on our daughters recommendation, and the next and the next and the next. Don't let the location mislead you - tiny strip mall on School Street makes it seem small and unassuming. Love the half serving of eggs benedict of which I had a different version every day - especially the one with spinach and tomatoes. Service is great. Just remember cash only - but they do have an atm.

This place is a secret here on the cape. Found this place for some breakfast off of some reviews on Yelp. I must say WOW. The BEST corn beef hash I have EVER had! This place is awesome!

One of the best brunch restaurants I've eaten at across the United States. Friendly service, large portion sizes and affordable prices... Especially for a summer vacation town. Had the hash both times I came here this week... I couldn't go away from it. Love this place.

Fantastic find. Best meal of our Cape Cod vacation was our brunch here. Get a slice of their grilled bread!

  • Michael S.

Western omelette was delicious and the home fries were not too heavy and had a nice hint of garlic. A little disappointed the omelettes don't come with toast - seems like a given. Overall great breakfast and no wait unlike Grumpys and red cottage. I will definitely be back.

Food tasted a bit off. One of our party had horrible digestive issues after eating here. Sad to say we won't be returning.

This was one of the better breakfast places my friend and I have been to in a while, and believe me, we've been eating breakfast like its going out of style! Its a little bit off a main road, but easily walkable from the hotels on the main street, if you wanted to walk. The breakfast menu had everything your little heart would desire and the cutest part is they have a sign with a name on it, and if that is your name then breakfast is free!

  • Thuy T.

I enjoyed the meal here. Its a breakfast place. I ordered the Irish Benny and the way they made the corn beef harsh it was the best harsh I had! It was not one of those out of the can crap. It was homemade! The service was very friendly - it seems like the workers there knows everyone. This place should open til lunch hours during the on season! I Will be back if I am ever in the Cape again!

  • Kirstin B.

Our experience here was fine - but nothing to get excited about. Service was decent not great, food was fine, but not great, with one exception - their homemade toasted bread. We ordered the apple walnut - and wished we had just ordered all of the flavors and called it a day. They are beyond yummy - if you do visit, be sure to add these to your order.

  • Stacie S.

In a word AMAZING! The food was delicious and tasted exactly the way I would of cooked it at home. The coffee kept being refilled and the service was spot on! Everyone who walked in was greeted by their first name, you can tell it's a local spot, but we did not feel out of place being tourists by any means. We always try to eat where the locals do cause it's a sign of great food! Highly for a great breakfast and a friendly smile while being served :)

FABULOUS homemade hash with big chunks of corned beef, excellent home fries. Don't miss this place. Had breakfast there last week and it was fabulous. They use fresh ingredients and it's all homemade. Delicious homemade bread - yum! Service was friendly and very attentive. You can't go wrong with this place.!!

We went here while we were on vacation in the cape... There was a 10 min wait but the way I see it that's a good thing. The food was great, the staff was very nice and pleasant. The place is really cute inside and a good atmosphere. A little small and crammed but I think it was worth it. I would definitely go here again.

Visited here on our CapeAtion for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and nice. My wife had scrambled eggs with bacon cooked in it and she thought it was great. They have homemade bread here and you should definitely have some as it's great. She had cinnamon raisin. It looked great and was. We both had home fries that were delicious. No ketchup needed. I also got French toast which again comes on homemade bread. Nice thick bread, the bread was great but it should have been soaked in the egg mixture better. Outside delicious, center of bread dry. Would have given 5 stars if not for this

    (4)
  • Katie C.

I can't believe this is all home made. The hollandaise sauce is like silk. But the one thing you have to try when you come here is Chrissie's grilled bread. There are at least four different kinds. It's not French toast, and it's not toast. It's a one-inch SLAB of swirly awesomeness. Sweet but not gooey. Ten times better than any danish. YUM. Two warnings: bring cash, and get there early.

  • Myles G.

This is a great local breakfast spot with a good sized menu with plenty of choices, great food, and great service. My wife, mother-in-law, and I had an excellent breakfast there. Though we usually eat breakfast at home, we may make this a weekly treat this summer. Our waitress was very attentive, polite, and friendly. I had two eggs over easy with very good home fries, and fabulous home made cinnamon-raisin bread (thick with ample cinnamon and raisins). My wife had the home made cranberry-nut bread toasted, and helped out her mother with the excellent waffle which was light and tasty. (I had a few bites too.) We went on a Friday morning and had no wait at all. It is not a large restaurant, so sometimes it can get busy during Saturday and Sunday mornings. When it is crowded, it can get a bit noisy, but the delicious food makes it well worth the trip. Enjoy!

Outstanding! 2nd time here on this vacation. I've had the apple walnut grilled bread French toast and the banana walnut pancakes. The basics like coffee, eggs, home fries and bacon/sausage are perfectly executed. Might come here a 3rd time this week. The Benedicts are good too. You really can't go wrong. Cash Only!

We found this gem courtesy of Yelp while visiting in October and couldn't have been more pleased. I had the corned beef hash and their grilled apple bread - fantastic! Seriously the best hash I have ever had!

  • Dave M.

Awesome food and very friendly service. We come here several times anytime we're on the Cape and spend hours back home trying to recreate Chrissys Omelette. Definitely MUST get the grilled bread (walnut raisin, cranberry walnut, apple walnut, cranberry apple, etc). I even make sure to always bring a loaf home with me.

Outstanding quality and service. An absolute Cape gem. The staff at this quaint breakfast spot serve a mean and tasty breakfast. Sweet or savory you will not go wrong. Do yourself a favor and get a grilled muffin with a coffee also this is the best corned beef hash I have ever had. Simply breakfast heaven.

We found this restaurant on yelp and so glad we did. The hostess was extremely personable, hence the name. The food was great. The only issue I had was that the cook was unable to satisfy my sons tree nut allergy because it was so busy. But our waitress (or cook) made another suggestion which worked out well. It was a very small place but again they are very accommodating. Although by looking at their setup it seemed they wouldn't be able to accommodate more than 6 people at 1 table. We had 5 in our party. Will definitely return when we return to Cape Cod next year. One more thing. We ordered their specialty cinnamon raisin bread to go but they were out. The only one they had was their walnut bread so we got that one and I'm glad we did. Delicious!! Thanks for the memories.

  • Marla D.

Great food. Speedy service. Nice staff. We had omelets, red/white/blue fruit waffles, hash browns, thick sliced grilled specialty breads, coffee and OJ. Will definitely visit again when in town. Awesome!!

I always love a local diner. After reading the amazing reviews of this place I was really looking forward to having breakfast here during our Cape Cod long weekend. We are semi-locals as we spend a portion of our year on the Cape. We are always looking to add to our list of "go-to" Cape restaurants and were hoping, due to the numerous fantastic reviews, that Good Friends Cafe would be added to our list. Unfortunately, based upon our experience, this is not going to happen. Doubt I will ever return to this place. I have to say I am scratching my head at all the amazing reviews on this site about this restaurant. For me the only thing that kept this from being a two star rating is that the corned beef hash is home made and it is good. Since there were so many comments about the incredible grilled bread we ordered a side order of the bread. We had cinnamon raisin. Yup it was thick. Yup it was grilled. WOW they put a clump of butter on top! It was actually not that great. It was rather bland and really dry. Just not seeing the greatness of this item especially since it was really expensive for what amounts to a thick piece of toast! Kudos to the owners for their marketing prowess by getting folks to fork over big bucks for what is essentially just a thick piece of bread! The atmosphere in the restaurant was ok. The location is in a non-nondescript strip mall type of place. The interior is pleasant but nothing special. They had some attractive photos on the wall from a local artist - nice touch. The service was perfunctory - not particularly friendly but not unfriendly either. Nothing that made us say WOW -- we really feel welcome here or WOW they are so nice I feel really GREAT about spending $10 to $15 more for breakfast than it is worth! On the subject of value, it was the prices that really got us. This meal was just outrageous for what it was...breakfast in a local diner. For the two of us we spent over $30 for breakfast and it was not a huge amount of food or really anything special! Seriously over $30 for some coffee, toast, eggs, and hash! To put it in perspective we went out to dinner the same day ( another local place) and we each had the prime rib special (came with home made rolls, large baked potato, and a veggie) and we spent less than $30 for the meal. Have to say feeling really ripped off!

I was really skeptical about this place. I don't believe that it is difficult to make a "good" breakfast .... but my standards are VERY high when it comes to my favorite meal of the day so five-stars from me says a lot. After about a half-hour wait, we were seated in a booth towards the back of the restaurant. I eyed the meals that other people had ordered as the waitresses carried them by me and prepared myself for disappointment. I decided to order something out-of-the-ordinary (for me) and picked what I believe they called the "Irish Omelette" - their homemade corned beef hash cooked into an omelette. I opted for a fresh fruit cup as a side and upgraded my toast to their special grilled apple cranberry bread. I was blown away. The omelette was really delicious (although slightly salty) -Their corned beef hash is awesome. The side of fruit was unbelievably fresh, and an unexpected mix of melons and grapes, pineapples and strawberries; very refreshing. The grilled specialty bread was divine - it is almost an injustice to classify it as "bread" - it was thick, and so full of apples, cranberries and cinnamon I would equate it to a pastry, but not as sweet. It costs a dollar or two more to upgrade the toast, but it would be a sin not to ;) To top off my already completely satisfying meal, my boyfriend had ordered a side plate of home fries and I ate more than my fair share. Usually I cannot be bothered with home fries (I find them too bland and undercooked too often) but these were exceptional & if I hadn't already eaten everything on my own plate I would have finished his home fries too ! I love this place. Don't be intimidated by a line out the door, the wait is worth every last bite.

The other reviewers are right the Irish Benny is really good. The eggs taste really fresh. Wanted to try the grilled bread but breakfast was so satisfying we didn't get to try it. Will def go back next time we're at The Cape.

  • Aaron R.

It is OK. Quite a few "maybe overly" positive reviews, so we wanted to try it. Hash was good. Grilled bread not so much. It is just a thick slice of warmed bread. Creamers in bowl were sticky. One had opened and congealed in the bottom of the bowl. I'm not going to think about how long it had been sitting there. Kinda gross and dirty. I asked for more creamers and they did bring a new bowl. Food was standard diner fare and on the pricey side. Breakfast was $30 before tip for two. I felt ripped off after reading so many "amazing" reviews and normally only write positive reviews. My mom used to say, "if you can't say something nice don't say anything", but I now wish I had skipped the place for breakfast.

Freakin delicious food and the service is on par with the food. The waitress is overwhelmingly friendly and you can never get this kind of hospitality in NYC. Do try their corn beef hash with eggs Benedict and their selective homemade grilled toasts. If you ever come to Cape Cod, hit up this spot but do so early since they close at 12 pm.

    (5)
  • Matt K.

Expensive and slow service. The food is ok but $3.50 for a slice of home made bread is outrageous. Especially when I know how much it costs to make a loaf, even at retail cost, which isn't what they pay. Down at the bottom of the menu it says you can buy a loaf for 7 or 8 dollars. Seriously?! Lol their profit margins must be through the roof. We paid almost 40 dollars for breakfast for two people (including tip). 40 dollars, I mean everything is over priced on cape cod but come on. It's unrealistic. Not worth it in my opinion... If they blew the doors off my taste buds, or if it was like the best breakfast I've ever had, then maybe... But how they have almost 5 stars is beyond me. I can make better food myself for a fraction of the cost.

    (2)
  • Amy M.

Excellent food, but a little shocked when we got the bill and we were charged for refills for our iced coffees 7.50 each just for coffee! They really should mention that only hot coffee comes with refills.

  • Judy S.

It is located in a storefront in a tiny strip mall that almost looks abandoned. I probably wouldn't have ventured inside or even noticed it if I hadn't been specifically going there (based on Yelp reviews). It is small but adorable and quaint inside. They have counter seating where you can watch the food being cooked. I had a breakfast sandwich which was good but the home fries were really the best part. They are perfectly seasoned and cooked well done. I think they were the best home fries I have ever had. My husband had an omelet with corned beef hash which was really good. The waitstaff was lovely and attentive. They have home made bread that they grill instead of toast. We didn't order it but I wish we had! See you next summer.

Oh wowwww were the Yelpers right about this place! This is by far one of the better places to have breakfast/brunch. Even on a random Wednesday at 11am, there was a 20 minute wait but be sure, it's totally worth it. We tried a varied mix of things here ranging from the fresh homemade blueberry muffins to their special cinnamon raisin and blueberry apple grilled breads. Then for our main meals, I enjoyed their sauteed vegetable eggs benedict and my daughter who tried their croissant with egg and cheese thought it was absolutely amazing. My friend loved his corned beef hash and over easy eggs so much that he ordered a second meal of the same kind. Yes you heard that right! All were served with their masterfully seasoned home fries. It just had that extra special oomph we've never tasted before and probably will never again unless we trek back down there. 5 stars all the way.

  • Chris D.

This was a pretty amazing breakfast experience. Quaint location and it doesn't hold a lot of people so get here early. The service is great however, they have a small army of waitresses. The food must have come out in less than ten minutes. The homemade corned beef was amazing, highly recommend it. It's cash only but they have an ATM inside.

  • Mary B.

An above average diner experience. Adorable spot, convenient location, attentive service and food a notch above typical. Pricing was a little steep but everything in the Cape is, there was no wait when we came at height of breakfast time which made me wary, but it seemed to really pick up after we were finished. We even beat the early birds. I recommend the pancakes, they were flawless.

    (4)
  • Kimberly M.

"Well worth the wait" according to my 12 yr old son and I agree. We waited about 15 mins at 915 on a Sunday morning. Coffee available while you wait. Definitely try their bread. I had the apple walnut and it was delicious. The home fries were perfectly seasoned. My kids loved their French toast and pancakes. Will definitely return if we come back to the area.

This place is really good. I went twice in the past week; 7/6 and 7/8. The first time I went with a few friends and got the 2X2X2 which is two eggs, two pancakes, and two slices of bacon. I loved it and my friends seem to enjoy their food too. The second time I went I had the red, white, and blue waffle with a side of corn beef hash. The waffle was amazing and the corn beef hash was home made. The employees are extremely polite and attentive. 3 different waitresses came over to make sure we were being served within a few minutes of being seated. The only downside to this place is that they don't take plastic. However, unlike the Red Cottage Restaurant, this does not annoy me as much because the service and food here is better and more than makes up for it. FYI: It is a small place and it fills up quickly; the earlier you get there the better. Furthermore, it shares a small parking lot with the Post Office and a few other businesses, so on week days the traffic situation is a little hectic.

This is a place not to miss out on. We came across it as there is not a lot open in the off-season in Dennis Port. First off - great service. The staff makes you feel so welcome - no matter if it is your first time or if you are one of the regulars. Very comfortable setting - not rushed, just sit and relax and enjoy the atmosphere and food! Now to the best part - the food! Lots of food for the money! The food comes up piping hot and so tasty. They don't just throw the food on the plate either - my scrambler special was placed perfectly on the plate (yes, I probably watch the food network too much!). FYI - It is a cash-only restaurant. You will definitely not be disappointed. Can't say enough about the place. We will be going back tomorrow morning!

Best breakfast on Cape Cod. I eat here, generally once a week with my family. The food is great. Can't beat the omelette here. Not greasy like so many others, and plenty in it. The Owner and servers are genuinely upbeat and nice people. Prices are good, atmosphere is nice. Their hash browns rock too.

This place was a real winner! We decided on it based on the yelp reviews. Dining with our 2 year old can be a challenge, but everyone was very accommodating. One thing I found interesting was that it appears that you don't have just one server. They all take care of you. I noticed that they write down your order on a chalkboard, and we were helped by at least three different people. The vibe is great. Everyone responded to my daughter's hellos very positively and felt like they enjoyed my family's presence. If you have young children you know this is priceless. As for the food... The standard breakfast is well done. Everything was quality and not greasy as sometimes is the case with breakfast spots. The real reason that we will be back is the grilled homemade bread. We had the apple cranberry bread. It was unbelievably good! I would go back just for that. I highly recommend this place.

The absolute BEST fresh breads ever. Cinnamon breads, raisin, cranberry. You must try them, even if you're getting other food substitute white or wheat for one of their homemade for a buck or two and you won't be disappointed. It is one of my favorite places for brunch on the cape and super low key. Love it. The staff is adorable and helpful too. Cash only, though!

Good Friends Cafe is an excellent place for breakfast. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is very good. Recommend the homemade corned beef hash and the homemade grilled breads. You won't be disappointed.

  • Beau W.

I agree w/ the reviews that describe Good Friends Cafe as overpriced - but, what eatery isn't overpriced on Cape Cod?! I live in New York City, one of the priciest places on the planet, and can spend less for [a better] breakfast than anywhere I've been on the Cape. Don't go here, or anywhere else on Cape Cod, expecting anything great. When I visit my family in South Yarmouth, the best breakfast I can find is the one that's cooked in my great auntie's kitchen. The coffee at Good Friends is your average watered-down, weak, small town diner variety. The food is definitely a step above the coffee but still nothing worth writing a rave review about. The service was on point and friendly. I posted some recent pics of the menu so folks know what they're getting themselves into before driving over to West Dennis.

The food here is delicious - especially anything made with their homemade breads (love the Oreo French toast). The staff is wonderful! So friendly and helpful. The restaurant is family friendly. Sometimes there is a wait but they have chairs outside and there is a playground nearby for the kids. This is a great place to come for breakfast or lunch!

Just finished the best breakfast dish at good friends cafe. I give the good friends cafe five stars because the red white and blue waffles were outstanding. The waffles were the best waffles I've ever had.

There are only a few things in life that can give a person true happiness. And when you find something that does, you better hold on to that and cherish it for dear life. I have found mine. The home fries at good friends cafe. When I was first presented with my plate(s) of food, I was skeptical. The food looked ordinary. But when I popped the first home fry in to my watering mouth, my heart screamed of joy. If you could put all the happiness in the world into one square inch of food, this would be it. After that life changing experience, I am now a new and better person. And have come back to good friends begging on my hands and knees for more home fries.

Great food! No kids menu which I think is nice to have, and they ask if you want more coffee but don't warn you that you pay for every refill. There's a wait but the food was worth the wait.

Friendliest staff. Food excellent. Corned beef hash about the best I've had. Ever. Grilled bread tasty. Omelette cooked perfectly. Good coffee. Great service. Only downside is that it is a little loud for me early in the morning!! But will definitely be back!!

First time eating at this gem of a breakfast spot. People waiting outside but my wife and I sat at bar. Krissy (owner) and Aurilie were very attentive and friendly. I had best Eggs Benedict anywhere. Marilyn had wonderful combo plate. Yummy homemade Banana Nut muffin!! Highly recommend this place!!!!

  • Janet N.

I go to the good friends at least once a week, I live right around the corner. While the food is definitely pricey, in comparison to the average cost of food on Cape Cod, it's average. As someone who doesn't like eggs, finding a breakfast place with yummy and eggless food is hard. Good friends not only meets this criteria, they exceed all standards for an amazing breakfast. Their grilled bread slices are HUGE and that with a large fruit cup can fill me up to say the least. Their fruit is always fresh and they can customize what fruit goes in (I always ask for no blueberries). Although there's typically a wait, as the location is very small, they bring coffee outside for everyone and you never feel like a bother. Good friends is worth every minute.

Awesome. One of the best breakfasts I've had while abroad. The home fries are great. The corned beef hash is equally as great. Loved the pancakes, nice and fluffy. If I had to pick on anything, it's that the Canadian bacon was tough and dry. But still loved the breakfast and would return again if ever in the area.

Tasty breakfast fare on the Cape. Their hash is absolutely delicious, but I didn't find the grilled bread to be as good as reviews suggested. The 2-person meal wasn't cheap at $42 inc. tip for breakfast, but it was good overall. Do be aware they only accept cash...it would be a 4-star review for me if they took credit cards rather than having to use my stock of cash or trek to a nearby ATM.

this place is seriously wonderful and their homemade bread is to die for.. I had the blueberry walnut.. it was so thick and yummy. My breakfast hit the spot and I left happy and ready for the beach. The service is incredibly friendly too! One of the best breakfast places I've been to!

What a sweet place! So worth having breakfast here. Feels like your in a movie, coffee was hot, bread was homemade, and the service was great. Everyone really knows each other and our waitress was the baker/ owner. What's not to love!?

What a gem! This place totally blows other places in Dennis away. (if only we could get there more often!) Waffles are delicate, soft, and superb, the corned beef hash was outstanding, and the omelets are hearty and delicious. Good Friends offers a laid-back atmosphere, kind and thoughtful service, and outstanding food.

For my 100th review, I've decided to rave about and support my very favorite kind of eatery - the elusive deserves-the-hype hole in the wall! During our recent vacation to the East Coast, the bf and I were lucky enough to feast on awesome food in many different places, but the Good Friends Café stands out in my mind as the best. It's not fancy, nor trendy, nor is the atmosphere sophisticated. But the service is very friendly, the prices are reasonable and (most important!), the food ROCKS. We arrived for breakfast the morning we were heading to Connecticut, so we wanted to have something filling in our bellies for the long drive. There was a few people waiting outside, and it was no wonder - one peek inside revealed a pretty small dining area. No matter; we (I) decided to tough it out and patiently waited for close to 35 minutes, though the bf kept looking longingly at the pizza place across the street (it was a little later in the morning. :) ) One of the servers kept sweetly apologizing for the wait every time she popped out to call out names - quite the contrast to the snotty service you can get in some spots in LA, where the staff treat you as if they're doing you a favor by allowing you to eat there... you'll wait and you'll like it!! Ah, small towns. :) Finally, a seat at the b-fast bar opened up and in we went. After ordering our drinks and I (annoyingly) took pics of the funky décor, we zeroed in on the menu. The bf decided on the b-fast staple of b-fast staples - bacon and eggs - and I got the linguica omelet with an upgraded cinnamon raisin bread. Aaaaand... we got .... pancakes (more on this later.) His eggs were yummy and the bacon was bacony; he was satisfied. I was very glad I upgraded to the grilled homemade cinnamon raisin bread... it was hearty and semi-sweet and super delicious. My omelet was good, though I do wish it had more linguica... there wasn't that much in there, and many bites were sadly linguica-less. I'd generally dock a star for this... however.......... .... THE PANCAKES WERE ABSOLUTELY, COMPLETELY, FRIKKIN AMAZING. I am not a pancake person and I kept stuffing bites into my face like a ravished, starving bum!! Ohhh, the soft, sweet, fluffy, buttery goodness .... I will never forget these pancakes. :( It genuinely makes me sad that I may realistically not eat these pancakes for a VERY long time. Sigh. Oh, service is very friendly... waitresses are very sweet and small town-y. This place just rocks and I urge anyone in the area to try it. You won't regret it. Eat a pancake for me! :,( Oh, CASH ONLY!!!

Excellent service and the food was delicious. My coffee cup was constantly full of hot coffee and our kids loved the pancakes. Will definitely be going back next time we're in town.

We had Hash Eggs Benedict, French Toast with homemade apple cranberry bread. Wonderful Food!! Excellent homemade corned beef hash. The wait staff was as sweet as could be Relaxed atmosphere. If you are in the Dennis area I would definitely suggest this place for breakfast. The owner visited the tables to check on everyone

Just the perfect diner. Simple room in a local strip mall with cute and funky decorations. We were visiting Cape Cod for the weekend and found the diner for Saturday breakfast. The first thing I noticed was just how nice everyone is. As first timers our server explained that the breads are homemade as is the corn beef hash. So with our regular order of eggs and bacon we got a side of cinnamon raisin bread and corn beef hash Then the fun began. The eggs are eggs and while cooked well nothing special. The bacon was outstanding. Thick, salty and cooked to perfection. Then I tried the corn beef hash. Let's just say they weren't over hyping it. I've never tasted hash so good. Thick pieces of corn beef with potatoes and seasonings. The homemade bread was cut thick and grilled warm with a heap of butter on top. Needless to say we have a new favorite place to eat on Cape Cod and a high standard has been set for what a great breakfast is all about. We'll be back tomorrow before driving home to Philadelphia

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious. I ate there two days straight with my girlfriends. We just couldn't get enough. From their home made bread to their home style potatoes. It's definitely a must!

Part of me doesn't want to write a GREAT review because I will have to wait longer to get in! BEST breakfast ever. THE BREADS..enough said.

All I can say is that I wish I was more hungry so I could've ate more. Their Apple chicken sausage and corn beef hash was amazingly delicious !!! It was my last day there so I'm glad I ended it with their food. Only down part is that it closes at noon.

Absolutely delicious! I would come here every morning for breakfast. It's tiny so it fills up quickly, but the food comes out insanely fast and they turn over tables quickly. My boyfriend and I shared a homemade blueberry muffin... Which was to die for. I had an omelette which was delicious and he had Julian's special which he enjoyed. His only complaint was that the potatoes were a little too peppery. Other than that I would highly recommend - just be prepared to wait for a table unless you get lucky!

  • Andrea L.

First off please note it's CASH only (atm inside). Small comfy location. Omelette was good. Home fries a little salty. The grilled bread is a must! Definitely a good spot to eat before the beach.

One of the best breakfast joints on the cape. Excellent spinach mushroom and cheese omelet. Potatoes were seasoned fantastically. Waitresses were friendly and fast. The decor and atmosphere could use a little work, but the food made up for it. Cash only, so don't bring your cards. Great place with large portions.

Great breakfast. The grilled bread is amazing. They have a space next door to wait that has coffee. Cash only so be prepared they do have atm on site.

This is my third time visiting the Cape and one of the things I look forward to is having breakfast @ Good friends. You're always greeted with a smile and you know you're going to get a good meal. Today the wife and I had the same dish which was corned beef hash, 2 eggs over medium home fries and homemade cinnamon bread toasted with butter. I hate using the term "the best I ever had" because it is so over used on this site. However I have to say I've only had homemade corned beef hash a halve dozen times in my life and this is definitely in the top two. Bottom line, if you want good tasting food, friendly service with a smile, all @ a fair price then this is the place to go.

Made my trip to the Cape even better. The bread she makes is amazing. What a great atmosphere it was with the sweetest staff and a great hearty breakfast. Don't forget to try the grilled bread! They even have sweet coffee mugs and tee's with their logo on them

Great breakfast and excellent service! This was a great find in West Dennis and we came here every morning on our breakfast. The "build your own" omelets are excellent, so are the pancakes. The grilled bread is like a dessert and highly recommended if you have room for something sweet!

  • Becky W.

Great place. Food was delicious and the service amazing. Brittany, our waitress was friendly and funny. The waffles were a big hit and I had the scrambler wrap with goat cheese and spinach, amazing. I did think the home fries were too buttery but hey, who complains about too much butter? It's not a fancy place so expect a neighborhood atmosphere with simple place settings and about a 30 minute wait. (Coffee available while you wait - just ask)

Decided to ditch the old Harwichport stand-by breakfast places (not to mention names but HPort has been seriously disappointing) and headed a few miles down the road to Good Friends Cafe- SO GLAD WE DID!! This will be our new go-to place for breakfast-!!! Pancakes were delicious, bacon was crispy perfect and my hubby said it was the best corned beef hash he ever had!! Don't skip the cinnamon raisin toast- it's addictive. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Today was our first time experiencing good friends cafe and I must say the 5 star reputation most definitely proved itself to be true!! What lovely people and THE BEST corned beef hash I have ever had!!! Wow wow wow!!! The owner is a true gem along with the staff. The service was impeccable and it feels like home when you walk in. And if you have a family they have such a sweet way of making the experience fun for the kids. My daughter had a Mickey Mouse pancake and when she finished coloring her picture the owner personally walked her up to the fridge so she could post her picture. I will travel for the experience time and time again. Whether you're just visiting or a cape resident I encourage you to drop in and see for yourself! Thanks good friends cafe we love your style!

We visited Good Friends Café for the first time last weekend and I have to say, we've been missing out! Our waitress was lovely, I wish I could remember her name, next time! She recommended some delicious menu options and we ended up trying the French toast made from their homemade bread with cranberries and warm cinnamon apple slices. AMAZING! We'll definitely be back because there were so many great choices to pick from, can't wait!

If you're a fan of homemade corned beef hash, this is your place. In contrast to the mushy, half potato stuff that comes out of a can, Good Friends is the real deal. Almost all grilled chunks of fresh corned beef make it the best that I've ever had on the cape. We were lucky to show up and have a table available immediately. There was certainly some confusion as three separate folks asked us for drinks. The kids got their juice quickly but it took another few minutes for my coffee to show up. I ordered the Irish Benny and the kids went with their usual pancakes. Unfortunately, two dishes came and we waited several minutes for the third. Our server also mistakenly served my younger son with a short stack as opposed to the full that he ordered. My dish was great. Perfection would have been a bit more hollandaise and a less hard cooked poached egg. The hash was heavenly. Bring cash as they don't take cards. Reasonably priced at 6 to 10 bucks per dish.

Awesome breakfast place. Had the apple omelette and it was oddly appetizing! So great! Service was great as well. bit of a wait but it's a good place so get there early!

Wonderful service. Wonderful food. What more could you ask for in a breakfast place? Perfect portions too. Good coffee too! The grilled bread is a MUST. Be sure to check the board for kinds not listed on the menu. So good! Do you think they'd ship a loaf to California for me?

  • Amanda H.

They were very nice and wait was only 10 minutes at 9:00 on Sunday morning. $2.00 up charge on GF toast brings your eggs bacon and toast to $8.29. Grab water if you're looking to keep your bill reasonable. Iced coffee, tea, and kids chocolate milk somehow came to $8, but the bill was indecipherable, so not sure what was what. No kids menu. A bit loud in the dining room.

Delicious! Yelpers never disappoint! What an awesome hole in the wall. Amazing pancakes, homemade hash, bacon benedict, great home fries... seriously everything we ate was awesome. Our waitress was probably one of the sweetest waitresses ever too. I'd definitely come back next time I'm down the Cape.

was checking out a vacation rental for September. Then went looking for a place for breakfast. this was not in our gps so was surprised to find it in our travels towards home. This place is located in strip plaza. Very small but cozy. Opened limited hours but 365. The service was excellent, food prompt and very hot and fresh. I love that. My bf had to wait to cool off not me. He had a Julians combo w flat sausage . His fave perfect he said once it cooled off. LOL. I had the Stuffed croissant. AMAZING! We asked for onions in our hf we got lots like we like them. Also had skins on yum. Then ordered a slice of cranapple bread to take home. It was 1 inch thick +. Great. We did feel the prices were a bit high for what we got. Total was $24.16. Bit high but it was a 1 time treat so that's ok. Might go again in September if we take the rental but will now know we have to budget a little extra for this treat.

Pancakes = surprisingly rich, yet light. Highly recommend. Red, White, & Blue Waffles = yummy, but somehow less impressive than the pancakes. Hash = homemade, yes. Tastes better than it smells. Fruit Cup = fair - slightly under-ripe Canteloupe and watermelon, but strawberries and blueberries were reasonable.

  • Jami Y.

Staff is fantastic. Had the cinnamon raisin French toast, sausage and home fries. I had asked the server for a recommendation on the meat. The toast was great and home fries perfect. The sausage was something you pull out of the freezer. She noticed I only aye on bite of it and quickly asked me about it. I did not fuss and simply stated I was not crazy about it. With no prompting she quickly took it off the bill. The four stars is truly for the service, by far the best I have received on the cape.

This place is awesome! Had the IRISH homemade hash - crisy and it hit the spot :-) The grilled bread is amazing as well - cinammon raisin. Going back in the morning for another breakfast :-)

Me and a few friends visited cape cod for 5 days and after eating at Good Friends Cafe we made it there 3/4 of the remaining days. The servers remembered us, engaged us in conversation, and were extremely awesome. They even served us after noon which is when they were supposed to close. The food is amazing, I had the corned beef hash 3 times and their 'upgrade' bread is totally worth it. Super friendly and great food.

  • Wolf G.

Good food. Attentive staff. My only complaint is that there's a sign in the men's room that says "employees must wash hands".... I waited 5 minutes and not one employee came in to wash my hands. I had to do it myself.

Good place. The girls are sweet. They have real maple syrup. The bacon is excellent. And a counter!

WOW! The best hash I've ever had! Homemade breads were soooo good as well. Super friendly staff, excellently prepared food, kid friendly, great service, did I mention the hash? A MUST for breakfast if you're on the Cape! Cash only- so be prepared.

Had the school street combo and my wife had the eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. I also got a bagel and had it grilled vs toasted which was a great choice. This place is a nice small spot with great food and great service. It is cash only, but well worth it!

Being not too familiar with the area, we jumped on Yelp to look for a great breakfast spot. We wanted to find a place that was somewhat off the beaten path, that not many tourists know about. (We went to a little restaurant the day before. While the food was good, and the service was done with a silent smile, standing in a long line outside waiting to be seated indoors and the bill not including tip, was a little extreme). Good Friends Cafe was a nice change from the previous morning. Not only was our waitress personable and friendly, there was no waiting in line! We grabbed a booth and marveled at the menu. The boyfriend ordered a Steak omelette which engulfed his plate and barely made room for his overflowing hash-browns. It was a sight to be seen! I ordered hash-browns with 2 eggs scrambled, 'canned' corned beef hash (they also serve homemade corned beef hash as told by our waitress) with wheat toast. I wanted to order French Toast but knew it would be too much for my stomach to handle - I was so hungry this morning, my eyes thought they were bigger than my stomach. Our meals were terrific! The bill was what surprised us. It was much less than the day before. I only wish more chocolate was added in my chocolate milk. This is our new favorite on the Cape! We'll be back before the Summer is over. And I will definitely try the French Toast and their homemade cranberry walnut muffins!

  • Shannon W.

This is the best breakfast place on the Cape! We were there on vacation for a week and within that time they felt like family! It was so good we ate there every day. The food is incredible and the homemade breads and muffins are even better! If you don't stop by and try them out, it is definitely your loss. "The Girls from Tennessee"

Great food! Open from 6-noon. I went back for more! First day I had an AWESOME Belgian Waffle and my wife had a cheese omelet that was outstanding and cooked perfectly - it came with toast and some really good home fries. The second day I had the veggie omelet with cheese - really tasty and cooked impeccably. The place is kinda small - i think it seats about 40 or so - they only take cash I think. The silverware, some seats and some tables don't match - but it's part of the charm. They have baked breads - think blueberry - sweet loafs. You may have to wait for a table but it's worth it. Prices are good - for the wife and I it was around $20 each day. Nice to go to a breakfast place that isn't IHOP.

We went here because we saw some good reviews on yelp. It's a nice cozy place. I had Belgian waffles with fruit and it was pretty good. My friend had corned beef hash and that wasn't so good. Service was good, so I can't complain. Overall, the food was fine.

Delicious breakfast, very friendly staff and great service! Glad we stopped at this little gem in West Dennis! The homemade cinnamon bread was very yummy. They had 3 other homemade breads available, wish we could have tried them too.

  • Sonia N.

    (5)

  • Jackie O.

  • Lynda G.

  • Lexie S.

  • Melissa H.

Perfect hash (homemade, moist and crispy at the same time) and grilled homemade raisin grilled bread. Didn't try anything else as this was perfect.

This is it.

  • Carol L.

The food was excellent, the service was even better. The option of fried bread is great and freshly prepared... A great experience on the Cape

First off please note it's CASH only (atm inside). Small comfy location. Omelette was good. Home fries a little salty. The grilled bread is a must! Definitely a good spot to eat before the beach.

What a sweet place! So worth having breakfast here. Feels like your in a movie, coffee was hot, bread was homemade, and the service was great. Everyone really knows each other and our waitress was the baker/ owner. What's not to love!?

  • Karen M.

Great place with large portions.

this place is seriously wonderful and their homemade bread is to die for.. I had the blueberry walnut.. it was so thick and yummy. My breakfast hit the spot and I left happy and ready for the beach. The service is incredibly friendly too! One of the best breakfast places I've been to!

Wonderful service. Wonderful food. What more could you ask for in a breakfast place? Perfect portions too. Good coffee too! The grilled bread is a MUST. Be sure to check the board for kinds not listed on the menu. So good! Do you think they'd ship a loaf to California for me?

Great food. Speedy service. Nice staff. We had omelets, red/white/blue fruit waffles, hash browns, thick sliced grilled specialty breads, coffee and OJ. Will definitely visit again when in town. Awesome!!

    (5)

    (5)

  • Julie N.

  • Dan M.

Had the school street combo and my wife had the eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. I also got a bagel and had it grilled vs toasted which was a great choice. This place is a nice small spot with great food and great service. It is cash only, but well worth it!

    (5)

Delicious breakfast, very friendly staff and great service! Glad we stopped at this little gem in West Dennis! The homemade cinnamon bread was very yummy. They had 3 other homemade breads available, wish we could have tried them too.

Have to say feeling really ripped off!

was checking out a vacation rental for September.

What a GREAT find!! We were staying in Dennis Port for 2 days and a lot of the eateries were closed for the season. Found Good Friends Cafe and couldn't have been more pleased! Had breakfast both days so we could try some of the different grilled breads. Each one was wonderful. The corned beef hash was amazing, eggs cooked perfectly. Everything was great. The service was so warm and personal. The only thing we wish we would have known is that they do not take credit cards, cash only.

Everything was delicious, even the fruit cup. The French toast was thick, eggs Benedict creamy, fresh made coffee was just right, eggs fluffy, bacon crispy (getting hungry). It was clean and bright; all the staff seemed nice though our waitress was a bit gruff. Now if only our kids were behaving it would have been perfect! The empty parking lot gave us cause to worry but needlessly. It was a Wednesday, and we prefer to bring our wild offspring to emptier spots anyway. Great breakfast.

We discovered this little gem as a result of an early morning Yelp search for breakfast on a misty off-season morning. The counter was comfortably sprinkled with obvious regulars, and a few couples and families dotted the seating area. The food was deliciously prepared and the portions generous - we didn't eat again until dinner. Coffee is bottomless, and served by a young lady who was polite and attentive. We're glad to have found this little spot, and we will be back!

Staff is sincerely friendly and happy with everyone. Everything we ate from eggs/bacon to cranberry walnut pancakes and Irish Eggs Benedict were delicious. Came around 8am on a Saturday and it was already busy so expect a line if going on a weekend, but it's worth the wait!

Best breakfast on the Cape! Period. I eat here quite frequently and have yet to be disappointed. The food is fairly priced and of consistently good quality plus their homemade breads are killer! I'm not sure why there is a bad review of this place from Robert F. but it sounds more like a personal attack on the owners who happen to be very nice people! My only complaint about this place is that they don't do lunch too which I'm sure would be equally amazing!

WOW! The best hash I've ever had! Homemade breads were soooo good as well. Super friendly staff, excellently prepared food, kid friendly, great service, did I mention the hash? A MUST for breakfast if you're on the Cape! Cash only- so be prepared.

We went here because we saw some good reviews on yelp. It's a nice cozy place. I had Belgian waffles with fruit and it was pretty good. My friend had corned beef hash and that wasn't so good. Service was good, so I can't complain. Overall, the food was fine.
